Hongdae Korea is the place where many Korean musicians perform the first time, and it also breeds many excellent independent bands. Besides Hyukoh and 10cm, ADOY, with the retro and City Pop style also caused a lot of discussions. The third album "VIVID" released in 2019 has released a cassette version recently.

ADOY released its first album in 2017, composed of lead singer Juhwan, bass guitarist Dayoung, keyboard player ZEE, and drummer Geunchang. The four musicians are from different independent bands, and the name of the group is reversed by the name of the lead singer ’s pet cat "YODA". ADOY wrote in full English and proposed the term "independent music for the masses", hoping to create songs that everyone can easily hum along. The eye-catching album cover comes from the South Korean illustrator "AOKIZY".
